DONATE GOODS

Give the things survivors actually need.

Thank you for thinking of survivors. Rainbow accepts a short, specific list of items that changes with what families in our programs need right now. Here is what helps most this month and exactly how drop-off works.

WHAT WE ACCEPT RIGHT NOW

The current needs list.

Luggage & duffle bags

For survivors who need secure, dignified ways to carry belongings during relocation.

Hygiene kits

Toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, razor, pads/tampons, lotion.

Gift cards

Target, Ralph's, gas stations, Uber. $25 denominations are ideal.

New items are easiest for us to pass along with dignity. The list above is what our advocates are requesting this month.

HOW DROP-OFF WORKS

Email first. We will schedule you in.

  1. Email communications@rainbowservicesdv.org with what you would like to donate.
  2. Our team confirms whether it is on the current needs list and schedules a drop-off appointment at our Resource Center.
  3. Bring your items at the scheduled time. We provide a donation receipt at drop-off for your tax records. That is the whole process.

Drop-off is by appointment only and we do not offer pickup. Shelter addresses are never published or used for donations, for resident safety. The appointment process keeps every drop-off at our public Resource Center.

BEFORE YOU BRING ANYTHING ELSE

Please check with us first.

We cannot accept used clothing. Our needs change monthly and our storage is limited, so items outside the current list (such as furniture and household goods) usually cannot be accepted either. If you have something you believe could help, email us first and we will tell you honestly whether we can use it or point you to a partner who can.

We do not offer pickup. Donations are brought to us by appointment. See the drop-off steps above.

Diapers, formula, and baby supplies are fulfilled through Rainbow's partnership with Baby2Baby, which helps survivor families receive essentials at scale. We do not collect them at drop-off.

ANOTHER WAY TO DO THE SAME THING

Want it to help today? A gift works like a needs list that fills itself.

Goods donations matter and we are grateful for every one. A cash gift does the same job with no scheduling. It lets our advocates purchase exactly what each family needs, in the right size, at the right time.
