EMERGENCY READINESS FUND

Today, we learned of a new funding freeze.
Tomorrow, survivors still need safety.

We do not yet know how far the disruption will reach. We do know survivors cannot wait for housing, safety planning, legal advocacy, and support.

Federal authorities have suspended funding to LAHSA, the agency coordinating much of LA County’s homelessness response. Public funding connected to domestic violence housing is shifting right now.

Rainbow is not closing. Rainbow is preparing for a more uncertain funding environment.

01 / WHY THIS MATTERS NOW

Domestic violence funding is homelessness funding.

When a survivor has to flee violence, safe housing is not a side service. It is the intervention.

Domestic violence housing is part of the homelessness prevention system. Right now, public funding timelines connected to housing and homelessness services are uncertain. Rainbow cannot control how public systems shift, delay, or renegotiate. But we can prepare.

That is why we are raising an Emergency Readiness Fund.

02 / THE READINESS FRAME

Readiness protects continuity.

Rainbow is not closing. Rainbow is preparing for a more uncertain funding environment.

Emergency private dollars give Rainbow the flexibility to act before uncertainty becomes pressure.

When public systems shift, delay, or renegotiate, flexible private support is what keeps Rainbow focused on survivors instead of budget gaps.

Your gift helps Rainbow do everything in our control to protect continuity for survivors while public funding systems remain uncertain.

03 / WHAT YOUR GIFT HELPS SUPPORT

Flexible support for survivor-centered work.

A gift to the Emergency Readiness Fund helps provide flexible support for Rainbow’s survivor-centered services. These are the services survivors rely on when public systems are clear and when they are not.
