How do I open my modules?
- Start or resume: On Student home, choose Continue learning to open your next required step. After completing the sequence, the main button says Review your learning.
- Choose a section: Browse modules to go to Your course checklist, then choose Open for an available module or Review for one you completed. Use Show sections to find available, in-progress or completed sections. Choose All sections to see the full checklist again.
- Find a topic: Use Find a lesson to search topics, lesson text or titles, then choose Open lesson beside an available result.
- From a lesson: Choose All steps, then Module overview. Choose All modules there to open the module menu.
- Locked modules: A locked module becomes available after you finish the required steps in the previous section. Start with Orientation.
How do I find a specific lesson?
On Student home, go to Find a lesson and search topics, lesson text or titles. Results show the module and whether the lesson is available. Choose Open lesson to go directly to it. Under Show lessons, choose Available to open to hide locked or unavailable results. If more results remain, use the button below them to show more lessons. A locked result explains which earlier module you need to complete. If there are no matches, try fewer words or use Clear search and browse Your course checklist. Searching does not mark lessons complete or change saved progress.
Which buttons save my work?
- Reading: For a reading, choose Mark as read or the completion button shown at the end.
- Quiz or assessment: For a quiz, choose Submit answers. At the end of a module, choose Submit assessment. Both give feedback and save the result.
- Unfinished choices: Choose Save choices if you want to leave before submitting. Partial choices are saved for seven days and do not count as a submitted attempt.
- Moving between lessons: Next step moves between lessons but does not mark an unfinished step complete.
- Save confirmation: Wait for the saved confirmation. If saving fails, use the retry control before leaving.
- Private writing: Ordinary private drafts clear when you leave their step. M13 capstone notes remain across steps during the module visit, then clear on leaving the module, returning home or reloading. Explicitly submitted practice is saved separately.
Are lesson times a timer or training credit?
Estimated lesson times help you plan. Work at your own pace and use the completion or Submit answers button when you have finished the required work. You do not have to wait for a countdown to unlock the next step. A video player shows its own playback duration. The optional study-session recorder measures browser activity, not verified attendance or approved instructional credit. This preview does not verify 40 instructional hours.
How do I return to my home page or find help?
Choose Student home at the top of the course, or Return to student home at the end of a lesson, to see your next step and course checklist. Choose Help & FAQ at the top of Student home or any lesson to return to these instructions. You can open and close each answer using its question.
How do I sign in or recover access?
Use the email on your enrollment and choose Email me a sign-in link. Open the email, then choose Sign in to training on the confirmation page. No password or numeric code is needed. Links expire after 30 minutes and work once. If a link expires or has already been used, request a fresh one. Use Resend sign-in link after the countdown, or Use a different email to correct your address. Check junk mail, then contact Rainbow if you still need access.
Where is my enrollment?
- Paid enrollment: Use the email on your tuition receipt to request a sign-in link. If payment is still processing or your course does not appear, contact volunteer@rainbowservicesdv.org. Do not pay again to fix access.
- Staff-granted access: Use the email Rainbow used for your course seat. If you are unsure which address was enrolled or have not received access instructions, contact volunteer@rainbowservicesdv.org. You do not need to pay again for an existing seat.
- Trying the demo: The learning preview takes no payments and does not create a paid enrollment. Use the preview controls to try the course. Demo progress is separate from your enrolled course.
What if I cannot access my enrollment email?
Contact Rainbow using the training-support number below. Ask the training team to verify your enrollment and help correct your account email or name. Do not create another account or pay again to recover progress. Do not share a sign-in link, password, client information or personal safety details.
Where do I pick up next time?
Saved completion marks and assessment results restore when you return. Your student home shows the next required step. Choose Continue learning to resume, or use a lesson link to open that step directly. Work through required steps in order to unlock the next module. Updated modules may require new completion checks. Ordinary private notes clear when you leave their step. M13 capstone notes stay across steps during this module visit, then clear on returning home, leaving the module or reloading. Explicitly submitted practice is saved separately. Use Save choices before leaving a quiz to restore partial choices after signing in within seven days. Saved choices do not count as an attempt or completion and clear when content is revised or after submission. Demo progress is saved for this version. A newly published demo may require a fresh preview.
Why does an updated module need new checks?
Saved work belongs to a module version. When that version changes, earlier work is kept separately and does not count toward the current requirements. Complete the updated steps to continue. If Student home shows Earlier records, choose it to reach a read-only summary, then choose View earlier records. Reviewer accounts call this Earlier review records. The summary shows saved step checks and assessment records, not earlier lesson content or approved training credit. If records cannot be shown, you can keep learning and refresh Student home later.
Can I learn without audio or a microphone?
- Read video without audio: Choose Open transcript or the optional Open visual descriptions buttons beside a video. Each one pauses the video so you can read instead of listening.
- Resume the video: Choose Return to video controls at the bottom of the transcript or visual descriptions to go back with your position kept and the video still paused, then use the player controls to play.
- Read along while it plays: You can also expand Read transcript directly to follow along without pausing the video.
- Practice privately: Optional conversation practice includes private text rehearsal. A microphone and an AI conversation are not required to work through the course.
How do I listen to a lesson?
Choose Listen, then Play. Use Pause, Resume, Stop or Reading speed to control the voice. Listen uses your device's built-in voice. Some browsers use an online voice service to read course text aloud. Your own notes and answers are never read aloud. Pause a playing video before using Listen. Listening does not save a step or earn training credit.
How should I approach sensitive material?
Take a break or return to a previous step whenever you need to. Use fictional situations in exercises. Do not enter personal safety details or real client information. Contact the training team for access needs or learning support.
What can the practice coach do?
The optional coach helps you rehearse a fictional conversation. It cannot grade you, certify you, make legal determinations, or provide real-case advice. Read the consent and provider privacy information before starting.
Will I receive a certificate?
Yes, if you enrolled through payment or Rainbow staff. When you finish the final module on the live course site, Rainbow Services, Ltd. issues your certificate automatically. Open it from Student home to view, print or download it. Employers can check it by its certificate ID. Preview and demo accounts receive a clearly labeled preview completion record instead. Serving as a domestic violence counselor under California Evidence Code §1037.1 also requires supervision by an experienced counselor.
