01. Tax-exempt status

Rainbow Services, Ltd. is a tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.

02. Form 990 filings

We publish our IRS Form 990 annually. Recent Form 990 filings are available through the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search, ProPublica Nonprofit Explorer and Candid (GuideStar).

03. Audited financials

Rainbow Services engages an independent certified public accountant to conduct a full financial audit each year. Audited financial statements are posted here once the auditor issues them and are retained for a minimum of 7 years. The FY2025 statements (fiscal year ended June 30, 2025) were issued by PDM CPAs on March 3, 2026, with an unmodified opinion. The FY2026 audit (fiscal year ended June 30, 2026) is in progress.

04. Major funders

The following is a partial list of government and institutional funding sources. This list is for public transparency and should be reconciled against current grant records before each annual update. Individual donors are acknowledged separately through donor recognition materials.

05. Financial ratios

About 86¢ of every dollar goes to programs: $3,427,552 of $4,000,974 in total expenses (FY2025 audited). Government sources provided about 86% of operating funding and private contributions about 14%, per the FY2025 audited financial statements. Rainbow Services reports its full functional expense breakdown (program services, management and general, and fundraising) in our annual Form 990 and audited financial statements. 06. Executive compensation

Compensation for the Chief Executive Officer and other key staff is disclosed in IRS Form 990, Part VII and Schedule J. Chief Executive Officer compensation is reviewed annually by the Board of Directors Executive Committee.
