Volunteer at Rainbow Services

Your time can make a difference!

Your contribution can make an enormous difference in the life of a victim of crime.  Many families arrive at Rainbow with little more than the clothes they are wearing.

You can help immediately by making a secure online donation.

Donate Your Time

There are many ways you can volunteer your time to help Rainbow Services in our effort to help victims of domestic violence:

Encourage a Child

  • Children’s Enrichment Program:  spend time with children in free play, arts and crafts and reading while their mothers attend support groups
  • Children’s Tutor:  assist school-age children with their homework
  • Create parties:  gather and set up decorations, activities, treats and snacks for the children Organize the Holiday Shop where donations are received and distributed to families in December

Please Note: Some of these require completion of state-mandated 40-hour Domestic Violence training class since they involve working directly with the children.  For more information call or email our Director of Outreach and Volunteers, Judy Gordon.  Judy can be reached by phone at (424) 264-0641 or Email.

Behind the Scenes

  • Support the administrative staff at the Outreach Office: answer phones at the front desk, filing, copying, etc.

  • Be a part of the team that organizes and produces our annual signature event “Sunset Serenade” in early July
  • Research new sources for funding
  • Present information and answer questions at local fairs, churches and exhibitions

If are interested in volunteering and would like more information please either call or email our Director of Outreach and Volunteers, Judy Gordon.  Judy can be reached by phone at (424) 264-0641 or Email.

In French, the word “Arc-en-Ciel” means Rainbow. At Rainbow, it has come to mean so much more.

Arc-en-Ciel is Rainbow Services newly formed auxiliary created to help us with our special events. Comprised solely of community volunteers, Arc-en-Ciel members are ambassadors of Rainbow Services and the driving force behind the agency’s renowned annual fundraising gala each July: Sunset Serenade.

Membership in Arc-en-Ciel is open to anyone who would like to be involved in the planning and implementation of Rainbow’s annual fundraising event. Members should have a firm belief in Rainbow Services’ mission statement, “Rainbow Services seeks to end the cycle of family violence,” and be willing to join the group effort to raise funds for the programs for women and children of domestic violence. Membership is fun, promotes fellowship and provides multiple opportunities to learn about Rainbow’s many worthwhile programs.

Meetings are monthly, September through June. Arc-en-Ciel consists of several committees whose tasks are varied in time and commitment. There is something for everyone and much to learn as the auxiliary works together to generate new ideas, talents, sponsorships, underwriting, auction items, dedication for the cause.

We welcome you to become a member of Arc-en-Ciel today!

Please contact Judy Gordon by calling her at (424) 264-0641.
