I am extremely pleased to announce that Rainbow has hired an incredible person to be our very first Director of Outreach and Volunteers, Judy Gordon.  Judy previously served as the Executive Director for the Women's and Children's Crisis Shelter, a shelter based domestic violence agency in Whittier.  She has extensive knowledge of domestic violence services from her years of working in the field.  Not only does she bring all of that knowledge to this position, she also brings a broad range of understanding about LA County's DV network.  She will be quite an asset for us.

Some people may wonder why she would leave as the Executive Director of another shelter based agency and that is actually an easy question with two answers.  First, and I understand this one, it is not easy being the Executive Director because you have to be the "jack of all trades".  Judy is very excited about taking this position because it will allow her to focus on those things she really loves doing.  Second, and we should all be very proud of this one, Judy has heard great things about Rainbow and is excited to be joining Team Rainbow.

Quite simply, I can't imagine a more perfect person for this position.  Her start date is scheduled for the week of January 11th.
